This piece took me a long time to make, as the ammonite was very stubborn and didn't want to lie flat. I always knew those creatures have their own character. =)
Besides the large ammonite fossil, I also used jasper cabochon, oval magnetite beads, copper discs and beads, variety of seed beads and a couple of cute copper-plated ladybugs (try to find them!). =)
It might look quite bulky, but it's only 8 cm (3 1/4'') at the widest point. I lined it with light brown leather and finished with lobster clasp and extension chain.
Did you notice that my girl has a new hairstyle? =))) I finally got the wig, and I was positively surprised about the quality! It was a real bargain! =)

Oh that is stunning. I have just bought some pieces of ammonite and can't wait to use them... I love your piece.

Thank you, Megan!
Thank you, Karyn! I love ammonites! I've had a couple of these for almost a year and I was afraid to use them. But when I started designing this necklace it just seemed right to add one there. I wish you great creative ideas in your work with ammonites! Thank you for following my blog! :)
Oh, so unique and beautiful!
:))))
