Good Sunday

Today I had a beautiful day - I spent it in my workroom organizing places and digging through my treasure boxes. I also made a few sketches for the new jewelry pieces.

Here is a peek at the process.

Creative process...

I love pulling these boxes out on the floor and playing with the stones until I get the right layout for my future piece.

What is your creative process? How do you start a new project?

xo,

My workroom

I still cannot believe that it's finally finished. :) Yay! I have already moved in and unpacked almost all of my boxes.
I would like to share some pictures with you. It's still a bit messy, but I hope you like it. ;)

My workroom

A little nook for afternoon tea with friends. I got this awesome sofa set from an antique shop. It's around 60-70 years old and it was made right here in Kotka.

My workroom

Corner with my Tonner dolls and craft supplies.

My workroom

Messy table and pinboard. I painted the board myself, as cork didn't look right with this wallpaper. :)

My workroom

Seed beads...

My workroom

There is never enough of seed beads... :D

My workroom

My button box. I still have quite a bunch of unsorted buttons.

My workroom

All sorts of vintage treasures.

My workroom

My weakness - lots and lots of stones.

The big doll cabinet.

My workroom

Bookshelf. I only managed to unpack crafting books so far.

Thank you for visiting and sharing this joy with me!

Have a good weekend!

Love,

A tiny bit of spring...

Thrifty Sunday

I just had the most amazing trip to my favorite thrift shop (actually, two of them). :)) I was lucky to spot some amazing things for my new workroom and also couple of little knick-knacks for my dollies.

Allow me to introduce you to my new love - vintage handpainted sewing box from 1943.

Flea market finds

I love-love-love all the amazing details. I think this is the best find of the year.

Flea market finds

I also got some nice wooden trays from old jewelry store, postcards, little beach chair for my dollies and two mini metal candlesticks.

Flea market finds

And here are the trays in action. I will use them to store my stone collection.

Have you recently found anything cool at the flea market?

xo,

I'm back...

Hello, my dearies,

I am finally back to blogging and I have some good news - after almost a year my workroom is almost ready, I just moved in couple of days ago and I'm already back to beading.

Here is a little fun brooch that I made just yesterday. :)

And here is another thing that I'm currently working on. Do you recognize the beautiful painting by my very talented friend Nancy? ;)

I hope I can dedicate more time for my beading from now on. And I finally have a real place for it. Yay!

I am not going to show you much of my new room quite yet, as many things still need to be finalized, but I will show you a little corner of my beading table just for a little taste. :)

What do you think about my crazy wallpaper? :D I decided to make it really bright and fun, but still stick to some classic shapes. Love-love-love those funky tulips!

More photos coming soon!

Oh, I missed you all so much!

xo,

My Creative Space

Nothing much has been going on lately at my creative space, but I have a new thimble display that I can brag about. :) Check out this cute little box with glass door and tiny latch! Not all of my thimbles could fit in there, but that's why I have an old re-purposed printer drawer for the rest of my collection.

And this is the corner, where my jewelry goes to show out and shine a little, before I pack each piece in the bag and put in the storage drawer.
On the big mannequin you can see a corner of my latest piece - pendant with ammonite and very shiny crystal. It will be available in my store later today. ;)

Hmmm... What else?

Wanna know, what am I going to do in the evening?
This! Sounds yummy, right? And I have all ingredients in my fridge!

Thank you, dear Frances, for this amazing recipe that I'm about to try! ;)

Chocolate 'n Raspberries Earrings

New pair of delicious summer earrings.

This time I'm also gonna show you short story of creation. Many people have been asking me about the process of bead embroidery, so, here is a sneak peak.
Hope that some day I'll be ready to prepare a master class with detailed explanations.

I apologize for the picture quality as we've had quite sad weather oven last couple of days.

And here is the ready item.

Enjoy your summer with strawberries and chocolate!

Workroom makeover

Here are couple of workroom pictures "before" and "after" my small painting job. The room is always quite crowded as I share it with my significant other, who happens to be a construction engineer, which means that there are tonnes of paper with drawings, plans and calculations lying
around.

That's how it looked before. Not much colour.

And this is the "after" picture. I've already cluttered it a little, but it belongs to the creative spirit, right? =)
We had many different opinions from our friends and relatives about the colour choice. Of course, it would be safer to stick with some mild green of light blue, but that wouldn't be crazy enough. And we are at the point in life, when we really need something a bit crazy to keep things going. =)

Couple of details...

The far corner of my table with small storage drawers for beads and findings.

Seed bead drawer.

My computer corner, new pin-board and couple of bookshelves.

And this is my new lady-friend. We call her Margret. I got her from local mall, when they were having equipment sale from recently closed clothes shop. She's wearing one of my old pieces with beautiful amethyst cabochon.

And these are my spying mice - gift from a friend. They are lying on my treasure boxes and watching me working.

I hope you enjoyed quick tour in my workroom. Maybe later I could show you more of my storage solutions. Stay tuned! ;)

New life of an old suitcase

Last Saturday I bought this suitcase from a local flea market for only 2 euros. By its appearance and construction I would suggest it comes from 80's. Although the condition of the case was almost perfect. I decided I'm gonna make some jewelry storage out of it. So, I bought some supplies, including 1 meter of waxed fabric, a jar of contact glue, dug out of my scrap box several kinds of decorative ribbons and ropes, couple of sheets of scrapbooking paper, plus, two evenings of hard work on the living room floor... and here is the result.

That's how the case looked when I just brought it home. You can even see the price tag. :)

Look from the inside.

Some of supplies I used.

And this is the new look. I'm especially proud of the decorative rope going all around the corners and closures. That took ages, but it also gives the case completely finished look. :)

I used waxed fabric to protect the case from moisture, and it's also very easy to clean.

And finally here is the inside - thick scrapbooking paper and some ribbon did the trick.

I have one more way older suitcase in storage waiting for its transformation. I already bought some white fake leather and waiting for metal parts to arrive from US. Stay tuned for more luggage transformations. =)
