Working on orders... one down, three to go.

I finished my work on the custom set with beaded beads. Here is the result.

I'm happy how it turned out to be. The only upsetting thing is that the light outside is not great. Looks like it's time to switch to winter photography mode and get the light box out of the closet. Do you use light box, when it's dark and gloomy outside?

But now it's time to get back to work - big blue bead embroidered ring is waiting to be finished.

See you later! ;)

xo,

Accidents happen... but let's take advantage of that! ;)

Last weekend I did one of the scariest things a beader can experience... I was organizing my seed bead stash and three bags of white seed beads (all in slightly different color) spilled all over my work table. Can you imagine the horror in my eyes when I heard them dropping and rolling?!!?
Of course, I quickly collected as much as I could and got approximately 50 grams of beautiful bead soup in all shades of white. =)) I decided that it's gonna take too much time to sort that pile, so I put it aside. But as you know nothing happens without a reason. ;)
Last night I was going through some old boxes and found a bracelet I made over 10 years ago. (It's really too scary to show it to you.) But that bracelet gave me an idea how to use my bead soup.
I added to the mix some leftover pearls from my previous projects...

Then half of the night I was stringing... and stringing... and stringing again.

Then I took my crochet hook...
and in the morning I had this.

I think I'm hooked on the process, as I love to crochet.
I'm planning to make more of these in all possible colors. What do you think? Is it wearable? Or should I stop at this one?

I would really appreciate your comments and opinions! ;)

And have you ever made anything from some spilled or weird leftover beads?

Beading in countryside

Just couple of simple crochet ropes I made to keep myself busy during my last visit in the countryside. I like making these while travelling as you don't need whole bag of tools and supplies to make them.

Waiting for better weather to take more pictures...

Orchid Necklace

Last weekend I decided to try out something completely new for me - beaded flowers. I've never been a big fan of those, but then I saw couple of beaded orchid pictures and fell in love... Here is my own try to create a beaded orchid. I didn't have any patterns so I just tried to do something off the top of my head. Two painful days of adding and removing beads brougth me to this.

It still doesn't quite look the way I wanted, but now I've learned from my own mistakes. Hope that next one will be perfect. =)

Sunshine earrings

A while ago I tried out a new technique. Looks quite cute. What do you think? Should these earrings live or go?

The White Tie

One of my recent pieces. I've always wanted to make something quite formal, but eye catching to go with a blouse and suite. I think this is quite good option.

Howlite and cat's eye cabochons, crystal bicones, Japanese seed beads, white artificial leather backing.

Oh, and I'm absolutely in love with this style of rope. I used matt seed beads, which make the rope very "crunchy" like frosty winter day.
