A bit of Christmas Decorations

I love winter holidays. And I also love decorating the house for Christmas. Here is a little peak at our this year's decorations.

In the entrance reindeer farm is greeting all our visitors.

These red glass balls I brought from my parents' house. They have always been a part of Christmas in my childhood.

Kitchen entrance and a bit of greens. :)

Blooming hyacinth with absolutely crazy smell is living on the kitchen table.

And, of course, the Christmas tree with all the beautiful toys and lights.

And Santa hiding under...

I hope you had a great time during Christmas and there is still magic New Year's night to look forward to.

Happy Holidays, my lovelies!
May your home be filled with love, joy and laughter!

Warm hugs!

My Creative Space

For past three days I've been playing snowflake factory. I pulled out my copy of Sandra's Snowflake book and started beading again. (Two free snowflake patterns by Sandra D Halpenny available here) I've been making these wonderful snowflakes every Christmas for past three years. And guess what, I don't have even one of my own. They all got picked off our Christmas tree by my friends and relatives. So, this year I've decided to send some snowflakes along with Christmas cards, so they leave my tree alone. :)

Still long way to go...

Have you already started decorating for the holidays?
I pulled some decorations out of the closet last weekend...

Now I can burn candles in the work room and enjoy the warm light.

Meet my reindeer farm. I love this metal reindeer mobile that is now hanging between the living room and entrance. And those couple of bright dots on blue in the background are star lights in the bedroom.
It's dark and cold in Finland, so we're trying to cheer up with early Christmas decorations. :)

This week there is no Creative Space post at kootoyoo and the next one will be only in January, but I think I'll still keep posting My Creative Space.

Enjoy your evening!

Saturday Shopping

It's Saturday again and it means that we go shopping together with Sandra from zsazsazsu.

I haven't posted too many new items this week in my Etsy store, as I was busy creating two very special goddesses for a wonderful lady from France, who makes gorgeous rings with vintage finds.

Here are my newest items...

Sweet Gingerbread Couple to wear on your favorite warm sweater.

All sparkling and shining Silver Peacock Barrette to brighten up your New Year's party. And you can wear it in so many different ways.

Black pendant with gorgeous fan shaped agate and cute faux fur skirt.

Enjoy your Saturday Shopping! Only 21 days till Christmas! ;)

Christmas is almost here

I'm already in the Christmas mood, as today I received my new Christmas tree ornaments from a wonderful artist Maria of Heartshaped Creations.

We have a tradition of getting original ornaments every year before Christmas, this year they arrived from Greece. Meet the cute bear family and their cousin little penguin.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase, as each of little fellows is lovingly created with the most precious details like tiny rhinestones on the paws and bellies and shiny bead eyes. The package is adorable, too!
If you are looking for original Christmas ornament, cake toppers or other cute things, visit Maria's store on Etsy and you won't be disappointed!

Thank you, Maria, you are a wonderful artist!
And special "thanks" to Sole, who introduced me to this cuteness! ;)

Enjoy your evening!

Autumn Market Finds

Today we visited the Big Autumn Market that takes places every year in our local sport hall. Besides the regular tasty bread, candies and cheese, we also brought home some other treasures.

I found beautiful agate slabs and slices. I'm still wondering, how did I manage to limit myself to 5 pieces only. Usually I don't leave without at least half a kilo of stones. :) I'm planning to use them for rings and necklaces. The big black slice is almost 12 cm long. That's gonna be a challenge!

Then I also met very friendly and talkative elderly lady, who had a table full of felted gnomes. We chatted a bit and then I picked a gnome for myself. It's a very special Christmas gnome that will guard my cookie jar. It sits on a piece of wood and has the funniest white beard.

I also met my favorite vintage home decoration seller and couldn't resist buying this candy jar for the kitchen. While I was unpacking groceries, the jar got filled with candies and settled on the counter.

It was interesting and fun day. Buying handmade makes me happy every time, as besides the item itself you also get a lot of positive energy and happy thoughts!
Now it's tea time in our house. See you soon!
Hope that you also had a wonderful day!

Freshly baked cookies

Christmas is coming and I decided to start getting ready early this year, so I "baked" sweet tiny gingerbread brooches for my Etsy store.

I named them "Sweet couple". :) They measure just a bit less than 4 x 3 cm and have very soft ultrasuede backing. I'm planning to pack them in small boxes ready for gift giving.

What do you think? Should I make more of them in different colors?

Getting ready for Christmas

This year I started early. Here is my first Christmas decoration. 10 minutes of digging in my "treasure box", plus, 15 minutes of creative work and... voila! Here it is! I'm planning on making two more of these as the small gifts to both our families.

Couple of details...
